What is the Support at Home Program?
The Australian Government is making changes to the aged care system. These changes are part of a new law called the Aged Care Act 2024. Starting 1 November 2025, a new program called Support at Home will replace the current Home Care Packages Program.
This new program is designed to:
- Help older people stay independent and safe at home for longer
- Provide easier access to services and equipment
- Offer personalised support for your individual needs
- Maintain and improve your independence through a range of services
- Maximise early intervention to prevent or delay more intensive care
